Lies, Dam* lies!

Since Saint Mc Cain can't keep his foot out of his mouth or stay coherent without note cards or a tele-prompter the Republic Party and their pals can't seem to bottom out with their sleazy lies regarding Barack Obama. Lies, not opinions, not another point of view but out right, bald faced lies.

The latest attack, William Ayers, alleged terrorist, old radical and current professor at the University of Illinois. Ayers was a member of the Weatherman who resorted to violence to get their point across about the Vietnam war. Ayers turned himself into the FBI, no charges were filed and he's a free man. Regardless of all that, Obama is not his buddy and never was. He served on a board with him, and Ayers wife through a fund raiser for Obama when he was running for Illinois State Senate. That's the extent of their relationship. Ayers has even mocked the notion that he and Obama are friends and that they share similar political views. But facts matter little to Republicans who have no compunction or sense of guilt in misleading people.

Mc Cain can't lie fast enough about Obama's position on Iraq. Recently he said that Obama wanted an unconditional draw down of troops without any concern other than bringing them home. According to Mc Cain, Obama doesn't care about the consequences and doesn't want to hear from the Generals in the field. Lies. Baseless charges. Mc Cain takes it further in a despicable low road maneuver when he claims Obama is effectively a traitor to his country. By insisting that Obama wants to lose the war. How dare he say that? It's one thing to disagree with policy positions, it's another thing entirely to make the ridiculous assumption Obama actually desires our countries failure.

One is free to believe Obama's position is not the correct course of action. But Mc Cain is making a claim he could not possibly know, that in his opponent's heart of hearts he want us to fail, he does not care about loss of life or consequences. It's disgusting rhetoric and it's full of more lies. It means something to call your political opponent a traitor, un-American. Mc Cain claims he questions Obama's judgement but questions his patriotism. It's a big difference than simply stating his position will not yield the desired results so we shouldn't implement them. This tact is used often by the right. They have the audacity to insist that political opponents, fellow Americans, want to lose a war, actually hate our country. That's not discourse, that's slander. I don't know about you, but I don't shine well to being called a traitor to my country.

More lies and slander about his dealings with developer, Tony Rezko. The RNC actually has distributed an unbelievable pack of absolute lies regarding a land deal. (Sound familiar? Whitewater maybe?) Granted, Obama has admitted making a deal with someone under indictment for brokering political favors and that it was a "bone headed thing to do." But the Republicans want you to believe that Obama got a sweet heart deal on a house and a plot of land. Not really. Unless you consider $40,000 OVER the market value as some kind of a good deal. But they did buy a piece of land from the bum, and did write letters on his behalf when a sitting State Senator. Also stupid. But what's the matter with presenting the facts? Why make a mountain out of a mole hill by lying? Because Mc Cain has done much worse, the Keating 5 ring a bell? Google it.

It gets worse. Can you imagine a human being so callous they don't care if a baby is born during an abortion procedure it is left to die? That's what the repugnant right wing is peddling about Barack Obama and they lie through their rotting teeth to do it. They base this vile assertion on Obama because he voted against a measure in the Illinois State Senate that would have made it illegal. IT ALREADY WAS ILLEGAL. Based on this set of circumstances, it means to the righties that Obama thinks dead babies are just swell. What a despicable lot they are. But what do you expect from a crowd that thinks the same of you if you happen to believe that a woman has more of a right regarding her own body than the government does? If you were wondering, no one likes abortion and it's disturbing that some people cling to that belief to justify their misplaced animosity. And liberals just love being called baby killers btw.

Rush Limbaugh. The man who brought you such classics as "Barack the Magic Negro" to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "Hillary's Testicle Lock Box" can't lie fast enough either. I'd like to remind people that Rush, by his own admission, is an entertainer not a reliable source of information. Sadly many poor souls are not aware of that. This blow hard and his female counterpart Anne Coulter have perpetuated the abortion loving Obama angle. Oh and they like to remind us his middle name is Hussein and that he's black as much as we can because those two things must be dangerous.

The same guy who inspired the mocking of John Kerry's Purple Heart by sporting purple Band-Aids on their lapels on the floor of the 2004 RNC convention, has written another piece of garbage attacking Obama. Jerome Corsi, liar and best selling Author. Obama put out a fact sheet that refutes many of the books assertions. But sadly, trash still sells on the book store shelves and some people don't mind factual errors. Again, to justify their misplaced animosity. The latest hit piece is full of countless shameful lies and innuendo to make you, the reader, scared that Obama might be a secret Muslim. Oooooh! This nut job goes so far as to question the legitimacy of Barack's birth certificate. Thankfully some conservatives have shown no desire to give this rubbish the time of day.

Sadly, lies work. Slander sells and the media is all too eager to perpetuate the lies and coddle the liars. Negative ads don't have to be factual to be effective. This is the RNC's modus operandi for decades. The questions remain. Will people finally grow tired of it? Will it work again? Can Mc Cain and co. out sleaze the Bushies and ride that wave of smears to victory? I hope not.
