Community Involvement
Yesterday my wife and I took a drive to tornado ravaged Windsor. The scope of devastation was bigger than reported. I had never seen what a tornado can do, but after viewing the carnage, I have anew respect for what Mother nature can throw at us. I left So Cal to get away from earthquakes, only to land in a place that averages at least 7 tornados per season, what was I thinking?
We stopped where Weld County Food Bank was handing out food items, and saw something that actually felt like community. Volunteers, unselfish people donating their time to help others. I spoke with others there and they are doing an excellent job. There's a huge need for more people to be involved.
If possible while you take out your pen and write a check, allocate some time getting involved. In supporting those who are our neighbors helps build a better community. Show up and help where you can. Perhaps you will see me there handing out food items.
