In the air and on the ground

Greetings to all the fine folks in Weld County!

Jobu's been kind enough to open his bloggy doors and welcome in the Muskrat Hunter! While I'll still be posting over at MuskratHunt (among other places like TriTowns) I'll also be dropping in with a steamin'-hot pot of Muskrat stew for everyone's... um... enjoyment(?).

Here's the latest post from MuskratHunt to help you recognize and track down the ever-present (and oh so stinky) Muskrat spoor. Enjoy. Don't forget yer napkin!

Just in case anyone thinks I've forgotten about the Muskrat or her pals in congress - oh no, I haven't.

Here's a quick update on their latest antics:

Recent Senate Votes
Cloture Motion: FAA Reauthorization Act of 2007* - Vote Rejected (49-42, 9 Not Voting)
(*in other words, stop talking about this!!!)

The Senate fell short of the sixty votes needed to end debate on this bill to modernize the nation’s air traffic control system.

Sen. Wayne Allard voted NO - i.e. Wayne "the Stain" Allard doesn't think the air-traffic control system in the US needs modernization. Keep that in mind as you travel this summer, assuming you can afford to...

Recent House Votes
Neighborhood Stabilization Act of 2008 - Vote Passed (239-188, 6 Not Voting)

The House voted to provide $15 billion to states and municipalities for the purchase and rehabilitation of foreclosed homes.

Rep. Marilyn Musgrave voted NO - I guess the record number of foreclosures in Weld County slipped her 'mind'

Amendment to American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act - Vote Passed (266-154, 13 Not Voting)

The House passed a comprehensive housing-stimulus bill through three separate votes, including this measure authorizing the Federal Housing Administration to help refinance as much as $300 billion of subprime loans.

Rep. Marilyn Musgrave voted Not Voting - Because she cares.
